My journey into curly hair began in the early 2000s when the industry started recognizing the beauty of naturally textured hair. Graduating from beauty school in 2004, I was initially trained to cater to straight-haired clients, which was the norm. However, my path took a pivotal turn when I joined one of the few companies focused on curly hair. This experience was eye-opening, revealing the widespread neglect of curly hair clients and a profound lack of understanding of how to care for this hair type. It ignited my passion to learn, educate, and specialize in curly hair. With certifications in Rezocut and Devacut techniques, I have dedicated my career to transforming and celebrating curly hair, treating it as the art form it truly is. My work is not just about creating stunning styles; it's about helping individuals embrace their natural beauty and showcase their curls' magic. Beyond the salon, my passions include reading, learning new things, meditating, yoga, cooking, traveling, and helping others. With 19 years of experience, I am grateful for the journey that has led me to where I am today—a passionate, skilled, curly hair specialist making waves in the heart of Soho.
Founded in June 2023 by Sophie, SVCurls emerged from a blend of passion, expertise, and the desire to address an underserved niche within the beauty industry: the care and styling of naturally textured hair.
